COVID-19 Announcements & Updates

March 1, 2021

To:
All staff and clients,

Learning Independence is pleased to see a decrease in cases of COVID-19 throughout. I would like to thank everyone at Learning Independence for following the safety guidelines, as recommended by the CDC.
We all must continue to remain vigilant to protect everyone from this pandemic.

The California Department of Public Health (CDPH) announced that people with developmental and other disabilities will be eligible for the COVID-19 vaccine beginning March 15.

Because this date is around the corner, I would like to share some thoughts from Learning Independence;

1) Please keep in mind, that even if someone is eligible on March 15, it does not mean a vaccine will be available.
2) While our State is working diligently to get more vaccines, take in consideration that it may take more time to acquire the vaccine that you are eligible for.
3) Don’t let this discourage you and/or your family from getting immunized.
4) Please note that currently, Professional and family caregivers are eligible now for the COVID-19 vaccine.

Thank you in advance for your continued cooperation during this time,

Sincerely,

Grace Riaz, M.A.
Executive Director
